Customizing eFlorist Websites
Learn how to make the perfect website for your business
Common changes you can make to your eFlorist website
eFlorist websites are fully-loaded and come with an array of controls and customizations that are always available to you. While we can automate many elements of your site to keep your homepages, products, categories updated and seasonal, we also provide you the ability to manage these items and more through our eFlorist Self Administration Tool (eSAT). Below are some of the more common tasks our florists take advantage of:
Can I manage my products with an eFlorist website?
Do I need to manage products on my website?
Products are essential to e-commerce websites as they drive revenue, engage users, and represent a brand. Effective product management and presentation are keys to the success of an online store.
What types of products can I manage on my eFlorist website?
Teleflora products are automatically available on your site. However, you can activate and deactivate products throughout the year as well as change the pricing for your website. You can also create your own custom products and control all aspects of them,
including images and pricing.
Can I control the pricing of my products?
While standard Teleflora products come with suggested retail prices, you can edit these prices to suit your needs. For custom products, you have complete control over pricing, giving you the flexibility to set the price that works for you.
What else does an eFlorist website let me control about my products?
eFlorist websites give you all the tools you need to help your products stand out on your site:
- Use Merchandising icons: Merchandising icons are tiny graphics that appear beneath product images on your site. Designated and customized by you, these icons can further market your products, highlight special offers, or feature specific characteristics (e.g., eco-friendly, best-seller).
- Leverage Add-ons for products: Product add-ons are additional features, accessories, or customizations that customers can include with a product during purchase (e.g. stuffed animals with New Baby products, candles with Birthday arrangements). Add-ons enhance the shopping experience by providing flexibility and personalization while increasing your average order value.
Can I customize the pages that details my products?
Within the eFlorist Site Management Tool, you can customize the look and feel of your product pages. You can modify how the page is laid out, price labels, Add-Ons available for specific products, social media share buttons, and more, giving you complete control over your product presentation.
Can I customize the overall look and feel of my eFlorist website?
Why is the look and feel of my website important?
The design of your website plays a critical role in how visitors perceive and interact with your site. A well-designed website can attract and retain customers, build trust, enhance the user experience, and ultimately drive the success of your online store.
How many options do I have for how my website looks?
Your eFlorist website includes various visuals to enhance the shopping experience. You can choose from different backgrounds, color schemes, and templates to create a digital storefront that aligns with your brand’s identity. To see a sample of these options, click here.
While the existing templates provide hundreds of options for personalization and avenues to set your website apart for competitors, you also have the option to create a custom website.
Can I change my homepage layout after signing up?
Yes, you can! While you selected a homepage layout when you first signed up, you are not limited to that template. You can update the design and adjust the number of items featured on your homepage anytime.
Will my site always look good on mobile?
Yes, all eFlorist websites are built using responsive design. This means the website will adjust its layout based on the visitor’s device, whether a desktop, tablet, or smartphone. This ensures your site looks great and is easy to navigate, regardless of the device
used.
Since I can also change the navigation of my site (the links at the top of the page), what should I consider when setting up my Navigation Menu?
Your top navigation menu should be clean and organized intuitively. A simple and structured menu makes it easier for customers to find what they want, improving their browsing experience and encouraging them to stay longer on your site.
How can I structure my website to limit who can place what kind of orders and when?
Can I turn off my eFlorist website for specific dates?
eFlorist websites leverage Order Blocks to allow you to block specific delivery dates. They are helpful for times when you’re out of stock, closed for a holiday, or generally unavailable, ensuring orders are not placed on days you cannot fulfill them. Orders will remain blocked for the specified dates until you modify or remove the Order Block.
Can I customize these order blocks?
There are many types of orders blocks you can create:
- All Zip/Postal Codes: Prevents all orders from being placed for delivery on the blocked days.
- Local Zip/Postal Codes: Prevents local orders from being placed on the
blocked days. - Outgoing Zip/Postal Codes: Allows local orders but prevents other orders from being placed on the blocked days.
- Only Select Zip/Postal Codes: Blocks orders from specific zip/postal codes, which is useful for weather-related incidents.
- Only Select States/Provinces: Blocks orders from specific states or provinces. Orders from other areas can still be placed.
- Block Delivery Type: Prevents orders for specific delivery types, such as In-Store Pickup, during selected dates.
- Block Location Type: This prevents orders for specific location types, such as businesses or hospitals, which may be closed for delivery on certain days.
- Block Selected Products: This option restricts the purchase of specific products on blocked delivery dates. It is often used for out-of-stock items or pre-launch products.
